The purpose of Manchester Family Services, Inc. (MFS) is to be of temporary assistance in all area emergencies such as fire, accident and disaster; to give temporary aid for such cases; and to be a source of reference and assistance to existing governmental and social agencies.
Manchester Family Service does not maintain an office and all staff are volunteers so that every dollar donated is used to help those in need. The annual meeting of Manchester Family Service is held in March each year for the purpose to elect directors and hear reports of the activities of the organization.
The Board of MFS is composed of nine directors, and the officers of said organization consist of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Manchester Family Service, Inc. is an incorporated 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and has been helping residents of the Manchester area for over twenty-five years. Any information relating to social service cases is to be kept in strictest confidence.
The guidelines for the nature of emergency aid for assistance from Manchester Family Service are based in (but not exclusive to) the following:
- Food, including federal foods.
- Rent assistance. Heating fuel for 1 month.
- Medical, dental, and optical.
- Transportation assistance in the form of gasoline.
The area of assistance includes residents of the four townships:
- Manchester School District.
