The Manchester Men’ Club is an organization that promotes the welfare of the community through many projects. We return the money that we generate back to the community in many ways.
The Manchester Men’ Club is always looking for energetic and productive new members to join the club. If you are interested, contact them for more information.
The Board of Directors meets the first Wednesday of every month and the general membership meetings are the third Wednesday of each month. When the weather permits the general meetings are at 7:30 p.m. at Chi-Bro Park.
The Manchester Men’s Club sponsors the the following community events:
Easter Egg Hunt
The Saturday before Easter some 2000 eggs are hard-boiled, colored, and hidden in Carr Park.
In late April or early May fallen timber and logjams are cut and removed from the River Raisin. Not only does this keep the river navigable for the annual canoe race; it also helps for those who wish to take a quiet trip down the “crookedest river in the world.”
Fourth of July Fireworks
Each year, on or around July 4th, a beautiful fireworks display is presented at Carr Park. The fireworks are purchased solely from donations by many of the area businesses, residents and attendees from the previous year’s display.
Each spring, summer and fall the two-mile stretch of M-52 south of Austin Road is cleaned of litter.
Street Art Fair Dance
Entertainment is provided and beverages are available to the many adults who attend this fun night out.
The second Saturday in June of each year, upon written requests, many sandboxes around the community are filled.
Second Saturday in October is the time for chefs who think they make the areas best chili to prepare their dish for judging and public tasting.
Christmas Tree Sale
Late November and early December through Christmas.
